Ground Blue Lotus Flower
Ground Blue Lotus Flower Tea is our whole-flower offering of Nymphaea caerulea blossoms ground to a tea-like consistency, perfect for steeping as a traditional infusion or rolled as a blue lotus cigarette. Unlike our Blue Lotus Extract (a concentrated 200:1 preparation), this is the flower in its most natural, unprocessed form: just the dried flower itself, ground for easy brewing.
Blue lotus has been traditionally used for centuries throughout ancient Egypt and beyond, often as part of evening rituals and relaxation practices. This ground preparation lets you experience the flower the way it’s traditionally been prepared: steeped slowly, sipped, and savored.
How to Use as a Tea:
Steep 1–2 teaspoons in hot (not boiling) water for 8–10 minutes. Strain and enjoy on its own, or blend with chamomile, rose, or your favorite calming tea base. Traditionally enjoyed in the evening as part of a wind-down ritual. For more information on how to make blue lotus tea
The Plant’s Natural Compounds
Blue lotus flower naturally contains a group of alkaloids, including nuciferine, that have been the focus of ongoing research into the plant’s traditional calming use. These compounds occur alongside a range of other naturally present plant constituents, and because this product is the whole ground flower rather than a concentrated extract, they’re present at the same gentle levels found in the flower itself — not isolated or intensified.
What Makes This Different from Our Blue Lotus Extract
- Ground Blue Lotus Flower — whole flower, tea-cut, gentle traditional strength, ideal for daily ritual use
- Blue Lotus Extract (200:1) — concentrated extract, more potent per gram, for those seeking a stronger effect in smaller doses
Sourcing & Quality
- Whole Organic dried Nymphaea caerulea flowers, ground (not extracted)
- Lab-tested for identity and purity
- No fillers, no additives, just the flower
Is this the same as the extract? No — this is the whole ground flower, not an extract. It’s a gentler, more traditional preparation meant for steeping as a tea, while our Blue Lotus Extract is concentrated for those wanting a stronger effect.
How should I store it? Keep in a cool, dry place, sealed, away from direct sunlight.
Can I mix it with other teas? Yes! it blends well with chamomile, rose, lavender and other tea’s for a calming evening blend.
