What are herbs for lucid dreaming?
While focus in general is the key to becoming lucid, their are also several powerful plants and chemical compounds that are known to aid in everything from dream recall to full dream lucidity. Herbs for lucid dreaming are anecdotally vast so we’ve decided to scour historical cultural wisdom in order to find the absolute best natural herbs for lucid dreaming.
After finding the ideal harmonious lucid dream herbs, we concentrated down each of these components to enhance their magical effects. We have set out to make the ultimate lucid dreaming capsules and that is exactly what we have done.
About each component
Calea zacatechichi– Known as ‘dream herb’ for a very good reason, this plant is one of the best herbs for lucid dreaming. The psychoactive properties of dream herb have been known by the Chontal indians of Mexico for centuries. The Oaxacan Indians would typically make a tea with the leaves despite it’s terrible taste.
The plant has several active alkaloids which are present in the extracted product. In capsule form it relieves it’s user from the suffering through a cup of ultra-bitter tea. We use a 10:1 extract in our herbal lucid dream formula.
Blue lotus flower– Nympheae caerulea has been utilized throughout history for it’s powerful dream enhancing abilities. Blue lotus is said to bring about a state of consciousness much like the dream state. When asleep, the user is believed to have more access to the lucid dream state as well as enjoying a disposition of relief from anxieties.
Alone blue lotus flower is more apt to bring about beautiful and vivid dreams than full lucidity. However in combination with these other powerful lucid dream herbs, the 200:1 lotus extract symbiotically unlocks new levels of lucidity.
Huperzine A– is a sesquiterpene alkaloid extracted from Club moss and is a potential dissociative. Dissociatives bring about a state of consciousness allowing the user to separate from the body. This idea is reminiscent of accounts of out of body experiences or OBEs. The extract has been widely utilized as a dietary supplement to improve cognitive function and for dementia prevention.
However, huperzine A is also commonly used as a dreaming assistant. The moss extract works by inhibiting enzymes that break down acetylcholine thereby increasing the levels of acetylcholine in the brain. This neurotransmitter works alongside serotonin to regulate the sleep/wake cycles and is an important part of opening up the dream space.
Kanna– Sceletium tortuosum is a small African plant fairly well known for it’s mood-lifting effects and for it’s use as an oneirogen. Kanna is also one of the best natural herbs for lucid dreaming. Likely because of kanna’s direct affects on serotonin levels, it has the ability to lift the dark veil of unconsciousness for lucid dream enthusiasts. Kanna can help to open the mind and invigorate the dreamer. For our Wings of Morpheus formula we use a potent 100:1 sceletium tortuosum extract.
Vitamin b-6– Pyridoxine is well renowned as THE dreaming vitamin. While it is important for regular brain function, in higher doses b6 also promotes vivid dreams and likely potentiates other lucid dreaming supplements. B6 converts tryptophan into serotonin, a neurotransmitter directly related to the lucid dream experience. For these reasons, b6 is a must have in any notable natural lucid dreaming formula.
Of course, we are not doctors and we can not recommend the ingestion of any of our products.
